
Bonny Moellenbrock is the Executive Director of SJF Advisory Services and brings extensive entrepreneurial, venture capital, sustainable business, and nonprofit management experience to her role. She provides strategic leadership; plans and manages SJFAS’ technical assistance programs, services and events; and develops the organization’s resources and partnerships. Moellenbrock has been with SJF since 2001, first serving in administrative and investment roles. As SJF Ventures Managing Director, she served on the Investment Committee, generated deal flow in the natural consumer products sector, conducted due diligence on prospect companies, and monitored portfolio companies.
Moellenbrock is a member of the Developed Markets Standards Advisory Council of B Lab, serves on the Board of Advisors of the Business Accelerator for Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Kenan Institute, and is a member of the North Carolina Investment Committee of the Natural Capital Investment Fund. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Resource Center for Women and Ministry in the South.
Prior to joining SJF, Moellenbrock was COO and CFO of Preservation North Carolina, a premier statewide nonprofit that promotes historic preservation and protects properties through its award-winning endangered properties acquisition and redevelopment program, and also served as VP of Administration for Orange Recycling Services, an entrepreneurial commercial recycling company. Moellenbrock holds an MBA, a Master of Regional Planning, and a BA in Environmental Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel hill, and is a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute. She enjoys gardening and making music with her husband and two daughters at their historic bungalow in Durham.

Anne Claire Broughton is Co-Founder and Senior Director of SJF Advisory Services. Broughton has been with SJF since 1999 and served as the Founding Executive Director of SJF Advisory Services from 2001-2007. She manages the SJF’s Cleantech CEO Panels, Winning Workforce CEO Panel, and webinar series. Broughton has helped raise more than $3 million in grant funds, co-authored three national research reports and numerous articles for national and international publications, led seven years of mission impact assessment and reporting, and spoken at numerous conferences on behalf of SJF. She serves as SJF thought leader on employee engagement topics and directs SJF’s workforce engagement-related technical assistance, including matching SJF portfolio companies with recruitment, training, asset-building, and benefit programs; leads SJF’s mission impacts assessment work; and also heads up SJF marketing and outreach initiatives. She is a founding member and serves on the Board of North Carolina Sustainable Business Council and also serves on the Advisory Board of Rebirth Capital, a CDE based in New Orleans with a focus on financing renewable energy projects.
Prior to joining SJF, Broughton was Editor-in Chief of Recycling Today, a premier national business magazine for the industrial and municipal recycling sectors. She has also served as the founding Recycling Coordinator for Richmond Heights, Ohio and as a Recycling Analyst for the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, where she co-authored a leading industry report. Broughton holds a BA from Oberlin College and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. She is an active classical violinist, singer, and mom.

Erin Payne is Program Associate for SJF Advisory Services. Payne most recently served as Office Manager for the Windham Regional Commission in Brattleboro, VT. Prior to that she worked for nearly five years in the non-profit conservation sector in Portland, OR. She first served as Assistant Director for the Fund for Public Interest Research and then worked with the Oregon Natural Resources Council as the Volunteer Coordinator and Green Building Renovation Coordinator. This high-profile green building renovation involved retrofitting the organization’s physical space to reflect its mission and included implementation of energy efficient and recycled products, as well as a bio-swale and permeable pavers which resulted in 100% rainwater retention on-site (as a pilot project of the Portland Bureau of Environmental Service’s Willamette Stormwater Control Program).
Payne has a BS in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont’s School of Natural Resources in Burlington, VT. She and her husband live in Raleigh, NC and in her free time enjoys running, hiking and traveling.
